A PDP governorship candidate in Kwara State has announced plans to unveil a manifesto titled “My Covenant with Kwara” on November 12, marking a significant step in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. The candidate, Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu, is expected to outline his vision for the state, focusing on economic development and infrastructure improvements. This move comes as the party intensifies its campaign efforts ahead of the elections.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) recently convened in Abuja to meet with chairmen from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The meeting, held at the party’s national secretariat in Wadata Plaza, aimed to coordinate strategies and ensure alignment among state chapters. The NWC is under the leadership of the party’s national secretary, who emphasized the importance of unity and effective campaigning ahead of the 2027 elections.
Meanwhile, in Ogun State, PDP governorship candidate Ladi Adebutu has denied allegations that led to his omission from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) final list. Adebutu stated that the omission was a temporary issue and would not hinder his campaign. He also noted that the PDP has received over 1,000 defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighting the shifting political landscape ahead of the elections.
The PDP’s efforts to consolidate support are part of a broader political strategy to regain momentum in key states. As the 2027 elections approach, the party is focusing on both internal cohesion and public engagement, with candidates like Kawu and Adebutu playing central roles in shaping the party’s electoral narrative.
