Nigerians can increase their capital and assets through cooperative societies, says Olufemi Adesope, newly elected president of The Bodija (Ibadan) Unique Cooperative Investment & Credit Society. Adesope emphasized the role of cooperatives in boosting income and financial stability.

The cooperative model, he explained, allows members to pool resources and invest collectively, offering better returns than individual efforts. Adesope, who took office recently, called for greater participation in cooperative ventures to drive economic growth.

Cooperatives have long been a tool for financial inclusion in Nigeria, particularly in rural areas where access to traditional banking is limited. Adesope’s initiative aims to expand this network, encouraging more Nigerians to engage in cooperative investment. His message comes as the country seeks to diversify its economy and reduce reliance on oil.
