The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) confirmed that two suspected Ebola Virus Disease cases in Yola, Adamawa State, have tested negative after two rounds of laboratory testing. The individuals, who initially presented symptoms suggestive of the disease, were evaluated by health authorities.
The NCDC is collaborating with the Adamawa State Government, specifically the State Ministry of Health and Human Services, to investigate the reported cases. The agency emphasized that the testing process was thorough and followed standard protocols. No further action is required at this time, as the results have ruled out Ebola infection.
This follows a recent Ebola scare in the region, which prompted heightened vigilance. The NCDC has previously confirmed a single confirmed case in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which remains the only known case in the country. The agency continues to monitor outbreaks and ensure public health preparedness. The current negative results provide reassurance to local communities and health officials.
