The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has publicly criticized Peter Obi, the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, over his recent claims of winning the 2023 presidential election. The PCC stated that Obi’s assertions lack credibility and are inconsistent with the election results.

The PCC called on Obi to honor his earlier pledge to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race if liabilities were found against his administration. This pledge was made during the 2023 election campaign. The council also highlighted Obi’s perceived lack of character and dignity, suggesting that his public statements have not aligned with his campaign promises.

The APC PCC has been actively preparing for the 2027 election, with President Bola Tinubu set to begin his re-election campaign in Kaduna State on October 24. Meanwhile, the African Action Congress (AAC) has also established its own campaign council to mobilize support across Nigeria’s 36 states.

The 2023 election remains a point of contention, with the APC and NDC having different narratives on the outcome. The current tensions reflect the growing political stakes ahead of the 2027 general election, as major parties prepare to contest for power.
