The All Progressives Congress (APC) has faced mounting criticism following a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, regarding former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) condemned the remarks as a "cruel mockery," accusing the APC of failing Nigerians.

Unidentified assailants killed Mrs. Jemimah Dutse, a former zonal women leader of the APC in Bauchi South, in her home. She was found dead in a pool of blood, with her throat allegedly slit. The Take-It-Back (TIB) Movement in Bauchi condemned the murder and called for an immediate investigation.

Nine lawmakers from Zamfara State have also resigned from the APC, citing a lack of concern for public welfare and disagreements over insecurity. One of the lawmakers, Aliyu Ango Kagara, stated their decision was due to the party’s failure to address these issues.

Separately, eight lawmakers from Zamfara also quit the APC over unpaid allowances and concerns about insecurity. The party has been criticized for its handling of public services, including a recent doctors’ strike that exposed weaknesses in the health sector under the APC gubernatorial candidate.

The APC has been under pressure from multiple fronts, with internal dissent and external criticism highlighting growing tensions within the party. The murder of a prominent leader and the mass resignation of lawmakers underscore the challenges facing the ruling party.
