The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun endorsing candidates for the 2027 elections, with prominent figures such as Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and Senator Monday Okpebholo honored at a recent beauty pageant. The APC has also seen internal tensions, with the party cautioning opposition parties to focus on their own issues rather than blaming the ruling party.
In Ebonyi State, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has endorsed Governor Francis Nwifuru of the APC for a second term, signaling continued support for the ruling party. Meanwhile, President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio has predicted a victory for President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates in the South South region.
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has pledged to deliver 50% of the state’s votes to Tinubu, reinforcing the APC’s campaign strategy. However, the party faces challenges, including internal disputes over primary elections and the need to reconcile aggrieved members before targeting 2.5 million votes.
The political landscape remains competitive, with key races in Delta North between former Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and ex-Speaker of the House, as the 2027 elections approach. These developments highlight the ongoing dynamics within the APC as it prepares for the upcoming electoral cycle.
