Pharmacy professionals in Nigeria have launched a campaign to strengthen the pharmacy sector through enhanced collaboration. The initiative, spearheaded by the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), aims to bring together specialists from various disciplines to improve drug management and patient care.

The PSN has emphasized the need for a unified approach to address challenges such as counterfeit medications, inadequate storage conditions, and inconsistent regulatory enforcement. According to the society, these issues undermine public trust in the pharmaceutical industry and compromise treatment outcomes.

This push for collaboration follows years of calls for reform in Nigeria’s healthcare system. Despite legal frameworks in place, the sector has struggled with inconsistent implementation and limited oversight. The PSN’s initiative is seen as a step toward creating a more transparent and accountable environment for drug distribution and use.

The movement has gained traction among healthcare professionals and policymakers, who recognize the importance of a coordinated effort to ensure safe and effective medication practices. While the plan is still in its early stages, it represents a growing awareness of the need for systemic change in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical landscape.
