The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a revised list of its 2027 presidential campaign council, including prominent figures from outside the ruling party. Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been appointed as a campaign coordinator for President Tinubu in Rivers and FCT. Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has also been included as a campaign coordinator. Adetokunbo Soludo, a former governor of Anambra State, has been named to the council as well.
The updated list, published on Tuesday, features members from opposition parties alongside APC members. Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, is expected to play a key role in mobilizing support in key states. Adeleke, known for his political acumen, will focus on Osun State. Soludo, a seasoned politician, will contribute to the campaign’s strategic planning. The inclusion of these figures marks a shift in the APC’s approach to the 2027 election.
This reshuffle comes as the APC prepares for the upcoming presidential election. The party has been working to strengthen its grassroots presence and broaden its appeal across different regions. The campaign council is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the party’s strategy and messaging. The revised list reflects the APC’s efforts to build a more inclusive and effective campaign team.
