President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) Directorate of Air Mobilisation for the 2027 re-election campaign. The move was announced by the presidential office in Abuja. Keyamo will oversee the logistics and coordination of air transport for the campaign.
The appointment follows a strategic reorganisation of the APC’s campaign infrastructure. Keyamo will be supported by deputy directors including Kasim Sumaina, who has been named as his assistant. The Directorate of Air Mobilisation is responsible for managing the movement of campaign staff, materials, and equipment across the country.
This is the second major appointment in the APC’s campaign preparations. Earlier this month, the ICPC received praise for its transparency and accountability efforts, though this was unrelated to the current campaign. The focus on air mobilisation reflects the growing importance of logistics in modern political campaigns.
The 2027 re-election is expected to be one of the most competitive in Nigerian political history. The APC, led by Tinubu, has been working to strengthen its organisational capacity ahead of the polls. Keyamo’s experience in aviation and logistics is seen as a key asset in ensuring efficient campaign operations.
The appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to modernising campaign strategies. With the election approaching, the APC is positioning itself for a strong national presence. The role of air mobilisation is critical in reaching voters in remote and hard-to-access areas.
