President Bola Tinubu has launched his re-election campaign in Kaduna State, marking a key step in his bid for a second term. The campaign, set to begin on October 24, was announced by Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council. Yari confirmed the move after a meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The campaign aims to consolidate support ahead of upcoming elections.

Tinubu’s campaign in Kaduna follows growing political tensions in Kano State, where civil society organizations have warned of an imminent crisis. The Kano Patriotic CSOs Coalition Forum has called on Tinubu to intervene in the state’s political and institutional conflicts to prevent escalation. The coalition’s concerns highlight the challenges facing the administration as it navigates regional and national political dynamics.

The campaign also comes amid allegations of political victimization in Osun State, where civil society groups have urged Tinubu and the Nigeria Labour Congress to investigate claims of unfair treatment of local government workers. These calls for accountability reflect broader concerns about governance and political influence within the administration.

Tinubu’s re-election efforts are part of a broader strategy to maintain his political dominance. His administration has also focused on infrastructure projects, including the ₦178.1 billion reconstruction of the Mando–Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna. Such initiatives aim to bolster economic activity and public support.

The political landscape remains complex, with rival factions and external pressures shaping Tinubu’s agenda. As the campaign unfolds, the focus will be on maintaining stability and addressing the diverse challenges facing the nation.
