President Bola Tinubu faces allegations from the All Progressives Congress (APC) that his campaign team orchestrated a plot to discredit him ahead of a recent rally in Kaduna. The accusations come as Tinubu continues to secure endorsements from regional groups and youth councils, reinforcing his bid for re-election in 2027.

The APC Presidential Campaign Council accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Atiku Abubakar, of plotting to undermine Tinubu’s campaign. The claims were made in the context of a recent rally where Tinubu and other APC leaders, including Governor Muhammed Bello Shettima, launched their campaign. The APC alleges that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to weaken Tinubu’s political standing.

Meanwhile, the South-East APC has endorsed Tinubu for a second term, pledging regional mobilization. The endorsement was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting in Enugu, highlighting Tinubu’s growing support base. Similarly, the HOSTCON Youth Council, representing communities impacted by oil and gas activities, has officially endorsed Tinubu for re-election.

Tinubu’s campaign has also faced criticism from opposition figures, including Makinde’s campaign team, which accused him of betraying the North and warned that voters would not support him. These claims come amid ongoing political tensions, with Atiku accusing Tinubu of using economic relief measures to win over voters.

The political landscape remains volatile, with Tinubu’s campaign facing both internal and external challenges. His ability to maintain support and navigate these accusations will be crucial in the upcoming election.
