President Bola Ahmed Tinubu landed in Lagos on Tuesday evening after a four-week working vacation in Europe. The Nigerian leader, who had been in Paris, France, returned to the country aboard the official aircraft. Tinubu’s arrival marks the conclusion of his trip, which was described by the presidency as a working vacation aimed at engaging with international partners and addressing key policy matters.
Tinubu expressed his readiness to resume work, stating he is in good health and prepared to continue his duties. The president’s return comes as Nigeria prepares for major economic events, including the 2026 Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) in Lagos, where over 10,000 delegates are expected to attend. The government has projected that this year’s event will surpass previous attendance records.
The president’s trip was confirmed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who stated that Tinubu’s aircraft is expected to land at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The return also coincides with ongoing discussions on economic reforms and international cooperation, highlighting Tinubu’s focus on strengthening Nigeria’s position on the global stage.
