A military aircraft crashed in Ondo State, killing 32 people, including crew members and passengers. The ATR-42, operated by the Nigerian military, was en route from Benin to Lagos when it crashed near the Naval Base in Igbokoda.
The crash occurred on Monday, according to multiple reports. The aircraft, with tail number NGR 931, struck a swamp area close to the Naval Base. The victims included family members of military personnel, crew members, and civilians.
The incident has raised questions about aviation safety and military operations. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, confirmed the crash in a statement issued in Lagos. No official cause has been released yet.
