A military aircraft crashed near the Naval Base in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday, October 5, 2026. The plane, with 32 people on board, disappeared from radar while flying from Benin to Lagos.

The Federal Government confirmed the crash, with the wreckage located close to the naval base. The Nigerian Air Force clarified that the aircraft was an ATR-42, not a helicopter as initially reported. The crash occurred in the Ilaje Local Government Area.

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa stated that no survivors were found, with only wreckage, identity cards, and uniforms recovered. The Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, confirmed the crash and noted the aircraft’s tail number as NGR 931.
